Languages and Language at the Crossroads of Disciplines (LLcD) is a research network supported by the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research). The network organizes an international conference in France each year with the aim of advancing scientific understanding of human language and linguistic systems, as well as serving as a forum to support new collaborations and cross-fertilization between different research disciplines and approaches.
The annual LLcD Meeting changes location and theme each year. Following the first edition, we are now organizing the 2nd LLcD Meeting, which will take place at the University of Lille from September 1 to 5, 2025.
This year’s conference will feature a general session, thematic workshops and invited lectures presented in a round table format. The languages of communication will be English and French. A call for workshop proposals will precede the call for individual presentations. See the key dates here.
The conference is open to proposals on any area of linguistics.
As every year, a specific theme will be highlighted through a Round table that will take place on September 3. This year’s theme is: Language Appropriation and Reappropriation: Theoretical, Experimental, and Corpus-Based Approaches to language acquisition and language rehabilitation. Confirmed their participation in the roundtable discussion:
Sophie Kern — CNRS DDL & University of Lyon, France
Jill Hohenstein — King’s College London, United Kingdom
Attention: Abstracts for individual contributions must not contain any information that could identify the authors (name, affiliation, address, bibliographic references). Submissions must be a maximum of 500 words (including examples, excluding references) and should clearly present the research questions, adopted approach, methodology, data, and results. The abstract can be written in English or French and must be formatted according to the provided template. See the English version here and the French version here.
