2025 Conference > Call for workshop proposalsThe LLcD conference will include a general session and thematic workshops. We invite workshop proposals from all subfields of linguistics, covering various languages and adopting different approaches (descriptive, theoretical, empirical, interdisciplinary, etc.) to promote diversity across disciplines and methodologies. Proposals are not required to align with the conference theme. Each workshop will include 30-minute time slots (20' for presentation, 5' for discussion, 5' for room change) and must consist of at least 7 presentations. The languages of communication will be English and French.
Guidelines for Workshop Proposal Submission Workshop proposals should be submitted as PDF documents and must contain the following information: 1. Workshop title and five keywords. 2. Names, affiliations, and email addresses of the workshop organizers. 3. Workshop description summarizing (i) its topic, (ii) current state of research, (iii) research questions, (iv) objectives, and (v) the relevant (sub-)disciplines, along with a bibliography (between 500 and 1,000 words, excluding references). Additionally, proposals may include, though this is optional:
The evaluation of proposals will consider, among other factors, the interest and originality of the topic and objectives, as well as the feasibility within the LLcD conference framework for a workshop format of 7 or more presentations. While not a selection requirement, proposals with innovative and interdisciplinary qualities will receive favorable consideration.
Evaluation and Notification Workshop proposals must be submitted by January 10, 2025. They will be reviewed by the LLcD scientific committee, and their inclusion in the conference program will be decided in consultation with the conference co-chairs. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be communicated by February 15, 2025. The list of accepted workshop proposals will be published on the conference webpage (http://llcd2025.sciencesconf.org). Individual paper proposal submissions will then be opened. The LLcD organization will distribute the general call for papers through standard channels and ask workshop organizers to ensure the specific call for their selected workshops is distributed through LinguistList and other channels, including their networks. Individual submissions will be evaluated by three reviewers from the LLcD scientific committee, which may be expanded to include experts suggested by the workshop organizer(s).
